Kristin Lohmann
Agency manager, project coordinator, translator
Kristin is a state-approved translator for Spanish and French, with official authorisation and certification for Spanish. She is a member of the BDÜ (Federal Association of Translators and Interpreters) and of the VdÜ (Association of German-Speaking Literary and Academic Translators).
She is the key point of contact for agency customers as well as project coordinator. She also coordinates communications between customers and translators and translates from Spanish and French into German herself.

Micha Goebig Phelps

A translator, corporate communications specialist and published author, Micha settled in Seattle in 2013 after many years of moving between Germany and the American Midwest. For WortSchatz, she primarily translates marketing and press texts as well as websites, always applying an excellent feel for language, a passion for the written word, and great commitment. She is the lead translator in our cooperation with Robert Bosch Stiftung.
Barbara Holland

Specialises in: IT, corporate communications, marketing/advertising, healthcare, beauty/cosmetics, sports-TV productionAlways on hand and with an eagle eye for proofreading, we value Barbara equally as a translator and proofreader. She and Micha (see above) make an unbeatable team tackling our regular Robert Bosch Stiftung translations. With a B.A. in German and an M.A. in Translation, Barbara began her career as a technical translator for Siemens in Munich, specialising in IT, before going freelance. After seven years in Germany she returned to the UK, gradually expanding her range of subjects.
Mary Dobrian

Specializes in: arts and culture, psychology, religion, social sciences, travel and tourism, advertising and marketingThe daughter of a Spanish professor, Mary grew up in the US in a language-loving family. She has a degree in Literature and Theatre Studies from Yale and has also worked as an actress and speaker. She has lived in Germany for over 20 years and has been a translator and editor since 1999. She works in (almost) every subject area, but her great love is the arts.
Claudia Amor
Translator English/Italian > German
Specializes in: literature, travel, music, medicine, marketingClaudia is a qualified conference interpreter, and has also been a literary and specialist translator since 2004. Born in Austria, she has spent lengthy spells in England and Italy, and finally settled in Germany in 2013. For WortSchatz she mainly translates marketing texts and training materials. Her work is always well-researched and lively, with a clear sense of her readership, and ample creativity.
Melanie Girdlestone

wordweaver.deBorn in the UK, Melanie grew up bilingually and in close contact with Germany. She has been living and working in Germany for more than 15 years. For WortSchatz she primarily translates marketing texts. She is also responsible for the UK version of the Silhouette Journal. We love her sense of humour.
MANUELA Kießl

Patricia Leigh Aiken

Specialises in: medicine, business and creative marketing texts as well as literature, art, film and tourismPatricia has an M.A. in Translation and a B.A. in German. She is a native speaker of both English and German. After a few years in Germany, she returned to Colorado. She has been working for WortSchatz since 2013, and is responsible for the US version of the Silhouette Journal.
Beatriz Martín

Her responsibilities for our agency include the Spanish versions of Silhouette magazine and sample business correspondence for WEKA Media.

A freelance translator, she specialises in legal and creative marketing texts, with particular expertise in cosmetics. For WortSchatz she translated Douglas Magazine into French. She also produces the French translations of sample correspondence for WEKA Media. We especially appreciate her huge experience as a translator and her cultural expertise.
Hendrika Müller

For the last ten years Hendrika has been commuting between the Netherlands, which is her country of origin, and her home of choice, Germany. She has been working as a freelance translator and proofreader since 2005, with WortSchatz on her customer list since 2014. Her responsibilities with us include the Dutch version of s. Oliver magazine and Douglas magazine.
